The Honourable John Manley, P.C., O.CChairman of the Board
The Honourable John Manley, P.C., O.C., was appointed President and Chief Executive of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE) effective January 1, 2010. Mr. Manley is a former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. He was first elected to Parliament in 1988, and re-elected three times. From 1993 to 2003 he was a Minister in the governments of Jean Chrétien, serving in the portfolios of Industry, Foreign Affairs and Finance, in addition to being Deputy Prime Minister. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Mr. Manley was named Chair of a Cabinet Committee on Public Security and Anti-terrorism, serving as counterpart to Governor Tom Ridge, the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. In recognition of the role he played following 9/11, TIME Canada named him "2001 Newsmaker of the Year". (…more) After a 16-year career in politics, Mr. Manley returned to the private sector in 2004. From 2004 to 2009 he served as Counsel to McCarthy Tétrault LLP, a leading Canadian law firm. In that capacity he provided strategic advice in matters relating to public affairs, including trade, telecommunications, security and finance. Since leaving government, Mr. Manley has continued to be active in public policy, as a media commentator, speaker and adviser to government. In 2003, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty asked him to lead a review of the province’s electricity sector. In 2005, he co-chaired the Independent Task Force on the Future of North America for the Council on Foreign Relations, a non-partisan think tank based in New York City. In 2007, Prime Minister Stephen Harper named Mr. Manley to chair an Independent Panel on Canada’s Future Role in Afghanistan. In addition to his role as President and Chief Executive of the CCCE, Mr. Manley serves on the boards of several publicly traded companies and is active in the not-for-profit sector. |

Mr. Brian Barry is currently involved with a number of technology based companies, including acting as the Chairman of Neuralitic, Chairman of Pinpoint GPS Solutions, Director of Storage Appliance Corporation and Advisor to Ticoon. Mr. Barry is involved in M&A activities in the high-tech sector. He is an advisor to the Business School at the University of Limerick, Ireland and is a member of Enterprise Ireland Advisory Committee in North America. In the past, he has served as a director and advisor for many companies including Destinator (acquired by Intrinsyc Software in 2008), Mobitween (acquired by ZED in 2008), Cilys (acquired by Openwave in 2005) and Bitfone (M&A in 2004). He acted as a board member of Hyperchip, a core-network router vendor, where he contributed to raise USD100M$. Mr. Barry is a former CEO and Board member of Destinator. He held various executive and management positions at Ericsson from 1982 and 2002, including CEO of Ericsson Canada, Board member of Ericsson North America, Board member of Ericsson M&A committee and Divisional Managing Director of Ericsson UK. Luc Filiatreault is the CEO of Nstein Technologies, a Montreal-based public company specialized in Semantic solutions and Content Management. Under his leadership, Nstein Technologies has refocused its activities in the News & Media sector which resulted in its revenues growing from under 10 M$ to near 30 M$ during a 3-year period.
Mr. Filiatreault is a serial entrepreneur and manager. Over the past years, he has built than sold 5 different companies including 3 publicly listed companies on Toronto Stock Exchange. His professional experiences include international assignments in the USA, UK, Senegal, Belgium, France, Mali, France, Brazil and Italy, just to name a few. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of PG Govern Information Systems (bought by Constellation Software in 2007) and the Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of NordTech Aerospace, a publicly-traded Canadian aircraft maintenance center for commercial aircraft (acquired by ExelTech Aerospace in 2005). He is also the former President and Chief Operating Officer of BellZinc, a Bell Canada initiative to address the online SME market and the co-founder and Executive Vice-President Sales & Marketing of Informission Group, which grossed over $100 million in sales before being acquired by Quebecor in 2000. Constantin Loudiadis is the Vice President for all international activities of QIVLIQ LLC, a US based diversified holding company that holds investments focused in IT, telecommunications and international business services. Mr. Loudiadis joined TKC Global Solutions, a Fairfax, a Virginia based QIVLIQ LLC subsidiary, as Senior Vice President in 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Loudiadis had been working for a number of up-and-coming early stage companies in the optical networking and element management software spaces. In 1999, he joined Cisco Systems as VP & GM where he was responsible for Cisco's Global Broad Band Wireless Access Business. Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Loudiadis was a key member of the Executive Management team at Newbridge Networks (acquired by Alcatel in 2000 for $7 billion) where he served in the capacity of President of the Asia Pacific Division, as well as Corporate EVP, Newbridge Networks Corporation. Before, Mr. Loudiadis held various Senior & Executive Sales, Operations, Marketing and Board positions with Nortel, Bell Canada International, Bell Mobility and Bell Canada. He has resided and managed business on behalf of these BCE Companies in Canada, the U.S., Asia and Europe providing him with a truly global business perspective. Frank Maw has had over thirty years' experience, initially in consumer products, then followed by a progressive career in both the wireline and wireless telecommunications industries. Mr. Maw was appointed President, Motorola Canada Limited in February 2001 while having been General Manager of its Personal Communications Sector in Canada from 1995 to 2002. He joined the Ultrapage Division of Motorola Canada in 1989 where he held a series of senior management positions. Mr. Maw is the Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITAC, the Information & Communications Technology Association of Canada and also serves on the board of The Toronto Board of Trade. Mr. Maw is also a past Chairman of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and served on the Association's Board of Directors for eight years. He is the former President of the original Paging Services Council of Canada. Prior, Mr. Nardi was active at Axon Integration and Development as the responsible for restructuring the company’s go to market strategy. From 2005 to 2008, he was Vice President Sales of Mediatrix Telecom, a VoIP company, as well as the President of the European Operations and Interim Managing Director in Bretagne for Groupe Lagassé which acquired a manufacturing plant from EADS secured communication. Susan Smith served at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for 30 years, joining the Bank in 1977. During her successful career at the RBC, she has worked in retail banking, small business banking, corporate banking, human resources and investment industry banking. Ms Smith acted as the Senior Vice President of Royal Bank of Canada and President and CEO of RBC Ventures for 8 years until she retired in 2007. In 1997, Ms Smith founded the Royal Bank Growth Corporation, a predecessor firm. From 1995 to 1999, she led Royal Bank's Knowledge-Based Industries initiative that took the Bank to the leading edge of the financial services industry in providing innovative banking services for Canada's burgeoning Knowledge-Based Industries sector.
