Quebec City, August 11, 2016 – Optosecurity is proud to announce the deployment of an integrated remote screening solution in Bristol Airport. Expecting a record-breaking passenger volume in 2016, the airport chose to rely on cutting-edge technologies to provide its customers with faster and more efficient service.

England’s third largest regional airport introduced remote screening as part of a major terminal expansion project representing a £ 24 million investment. The software suite based on Optosecurity’s innovative technology enables remote screening of hand baggage for multiple security checkpoints and allows airports to enhance security whilst significantly reducing operational costs. Otherwise known as Centralized Image Processing, the solution is expected to increase throughput and improve passenger experience thanks to its eventual introduction on 12 automated lanes by November 2016.

Currently on trial on 10 lanes, the system has already proven its efficiency in other leading European airports such as Schiphol and Brussels, where Optosecurity’s flagship product, eVelocity, generated significant throughput increase and overall improvement in threat identification.
