The OptoScreener system evolves the common checkpoint X-ray equipment of today into a precise automated threat detection system. A standalone system, the OptoScreener integrates the XMS Threat Detection Software Suite, a next generation decision support solution developed to complement imaging systems at the checkpoint. The OptoScreener retrofits existing platforms to automatically detect liquid explosives and other liquid threats, bottles, firearms and firearm parts. OptoScreener is Certified EU Standard 2 Type C Liquid Explosive Detection Systems (LEDS) on single view Smiths Detection Hi-Scan 6040i platforms and Certified EU Type C LEDS on the 6046si platforms.
The OptoScreener leverages existing X-ray systems to provide 100% pre-board screening for weapons and liquid threats. It provides an intuitive user interface that prompts screeners with warning messages when a potential threat is found, all without adding secondary processes. Complementing screeners’ work, the OptoScreener enables reliable and consistent automated processing of items and containers in real-time, with no secondary processes to impact throughput.
Sophisticated yet easy to use, the OptoScreener — a powerful and low footprint workstation connected to the X-ray machine combined with an LCD touchscreen — is easily field-deployed to existing single-view checkpoint X-ray systems, or to new multi-view systems to further enhance their capabilities.
