Universal X-Ray Raw Data Imaging
Geometric Distortion
Unlike typical X-ray images, the objects proportions in the Optosecurity' images look realistic, thanks to the company Distortion Correction Process.
Optosecurity uses an image format based on the widely accepted TIFF standard. Optosecurity is an active member of the NEMA standard committee developing DICOS (for Digital Imaging & Communications in Security), an new industry standard for images in the field of security, an initiative sponsored by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), that was published in September 2010. See www.nema.org/stds/iicl.cfm for more details.
Among other things, the use of a unique image format brings significant benefits for security managers:
- the ability to use a single image format with machines form various vendors
- the ability to create, share and display TIP (Threat Image Projections) images across multiple platforms.
